Fankobaa thrash Alpha Stars in outstanding match
Cape Coast, Nov. 5, GNA - Agona Swedru Fankobaa suffered a humiliating 3-1 defeat at the hands of Agona Mensakrom Alpha Stars in their Second Division outstanding league match played at the Agona Swedru sports stadium. Fankobaa started the match with great determination and looked poised to massacre their opponent when they scored the opener as early as the first minute through left half back, Opoku Mensah with a long range shot.

Alpha Stars'' inside left Kobina Gyan who was the outstanding player of the match levelled up the scores five minutes later and went ahead to put his side ahead with the second goal before the end of the first half. Fankobaa resumed the second half strongly and forced their opponents to defend but their hopes of levelling up the scores were dashed when Stars'' outside right, Samuel Baffoe raised his team''s tally to three in the 85th minute against the run of play.

Results of other matches were Eyisam Lumumba Stars beat Oguaa United 1-0, Apam Liberty Stars drew goalless with Winneba Kampsite F/C and Tuba Metro Stars beat Nyanyano Super Sports 2-0.

In another development, Cape Coast Mysterious Dwarfs beat Oguaa United 2-0 in a friendly soccer match played at the Robert Mensah Sports stadium on Friday. Oguaa United started the game with determination and matched their opponent''s boot for boot to end the first half with no goal to either side.

On resumption of the second half, Dwarfs took control of the match and netted in their first goal through midfielder, Douglas Mustapha in the 65th minute after he outran the defence of the opponents. Oguaa United after the goal took command of the game and made frantic efforts to equalize but failed in their attempts until Dwarfs playmaker, Ekow Ghansah increased his side''s tally to 2-0 in the 81st minute to give them a comfortable victory.
