Ike getting set for December showdown 10/21/2005
Former Ghanaian world welterweight champion, Ike Bazooka Quartey has stepped up preparations in anticipation of a December 3, showdown with Mexico’s Carlos Bojorquez at the Mandalay Bay arena in Nevada,U.S.

The fight will be the second high profile bout on the Bernard Hopkins-Jermaine Taylor WBC, WBA title bout.

A win for the Bazooka, against the Mexican also known as ‘El Elegante’ will afford Quartey a shot at the winner of the Hopkins-Taylor bout.

Coming up tonight in the US, is the fight between Joshua ‘Satan’ Okine and American Marlon Thomas.

Ranked number 2 by the WBC, Okine is confident of victory to boost his chances of a world title shot.
