AshantiGold threaten league boycott 10/21/2005
The Ghana Telecom premier league would return this weekend probably without former champions AshantiGold.

The Obuasi-based club say they will not honour their match-day-26 tie against Real Tamale United at the Berekum Golden City park because of perceived injustice from the football association.

AshantiGold are set to serve the first of a three match home ban this weekend – a situation that has incurred the wrath of the miners.

Though AshantiGold have appealed the decision, the club’s acting CEO, Cudjoe Fianoo told Joy Sports the FA has prevented them from duly exhausting the appeal process.

In other league games, Kumasi Asante Kotoko would be hoping to maintain their hold of the first position when they play Feyenoord at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

But Kotoko’s archrivals, Accra Hearts of Oak have a tall order to complete when they play away to Heart of Lions in Kpando.

King Faisal would also try to keep their ambitions on course with a game away to Liberty Professionals at the Dansoman training grounds.

At the Tema park, Real Sportive take on Berekum Arsenals with bottom club, Okwawu United welcoming Sekondi Hasaacas to the Nkawkaw park.

In Sunyani, Bofoakwa Tano play Kade Hotspurs as Ebusua Dwarfs would complete their home ban this weekend when they host Power FC at the Koforidua park.
