Modern library complex for Navrongo
Navrongo, (UER), Oct. 21, GNA - The Kassena Nankana District Assembly in the Upper East Region, is to build a modern library facility for the district to improve learning and research in the area.

The Kassena Nankana District Chief Executive, (DCE), Mr Emmanuel Chegeweh, who spoke the GNA interview in Navrongo on Thursday said, the project would cost the district about 2.2 billion cedis.

He said the two-storey building project would commerce in December this year and would be completed in nine months time. Mr Chegeweh said the District Assembly was providing 800 million cedis, while the two Members of Parliament (MP) from the district were contributing 700 million cedis each from their share of the District Assembly Common Fund, while the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development would assist with a top up funds for the projects.

The DCE said feasibility studies had been completed and that the district had already generated part of the funds for the take off of the project and called on NGOs in the district to support the project. He said it was sad that Navrongo had been without a good library, despite the numerous educational structures including the campus of the University for Development Studies (UDS) and the St. John Bosco''s Training College.Source: GNA
