3 arrested over WAEC invigilator’s death 10/13/2005
Three people have been arrested by the Police in connection with the death of an examination invigilator, Sakyi Asare-Menako following an alleged assault by some candidates.

A source at the Police Homicide Unit which is investigating the matter however did not disclose the names of the suspects.

Mr. Asare-Menako, an assistant registrar at the West African Examination Council was allegedly beaten to death, following a row over mobile phones he had seized from forty (40) private candidates writing the ongoing Senior Secondary School Certificate English paper at Accra Academy last Saturday.

He was left unconscious and died later at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

Meanwhile the exam''s council has expressed its profound sorrow at the death of the invigilator and have called on well meaning Ghanaians to denounce the act.
