Black Stars grateful to Ghanaians 10/11/2005
The senior national team, the Black Stars have expressed sincere gratitude to President John Agyekum Kufuor and the people of Ghana for the overwhelming support for the team throughout the 2006 World Cup qualification campaign.

The President yesterday announced a special package of $10,000 per each member of the team in addition to two cows and some assorted soft drinks for the victorious Black Stars at a special reception at the castle gardens.

Captain of the side, Stephen Appiah, described the meeting as a rare moment of motivation for the Black Stars.

The Stars have already received a winning bonus of eight thousand dollars per player for the 4-0 thumping of Cape Verde.

In an interview with Joy Sports, President Kufuor said the government has plans to mobilize substantial funds to cater to the logistical needs of the team in their preparations for Germany 2006.
