United Television (UTV), an Accra-based television station, on New Year’s Day hosted its annual event dubbed ‘UTV Day With The Stars’ at the premises of the station located at the Abeka Junction in Accra.
A number of Ghanaian celebrities from both the Ghanaian music and movie industries were in the studios of UTV to interact with television viewers and fans.
The annual event attracted a number of celebrities like Lil Win, Akrobeto, Nana Ama McBrown, Kalybos, Emelia Brobbey, Salinko, Baba Spirit, Langabel, Efia Odo, Moesha Boudong and a host of other celebrities.
The celebrities who graced the event were made to host some of the station’s programmes such as the morning show, sports programme, among others.
There were live musical performances from some of the gospel artistes like Evangelist Diana Asamoah, Kuami Eugene, Kidi, Wendy Shay, Flowking Stone, Ex-Doe and many others.
Some of the activities held include a dancing competition dubbed ‘1000 Nti’ which was won by one Amankwah, a talented young comedian cum actor.
The teenager beat off stiff competition from Akuapem Poloo, actor Dabo, comedian/musician Funny Face and a host of other personalities to win the GH¢1000 reward at stake
But the climax of the day was the grand celebration of the birthday of Managing Director of Despite Group, Fadda Dickson, who is also UTV’s executive producer.
A section of radio listeners who had the opportunity to visit the television station interacted with their favourite stars, took photographs and danced with them and also got autographs.
