WAEC Leakages: Trend Can "Kill The Future Of The Children" 4/10/2016

Mr Adbul Malik Kawku Baako, Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper says the perennial examination leakages shows how corrupt the nation is.

According to him – the ‘unhealthy’ trend can "kill the future of the children” - he also maintained that, “our minds, bodies and systems in the country have been corrupted over the years”

The veteran journalist was discussing the WAEC leakage which has hit the country on JOY FM’s NewsFile – last year, there was a similar leakage which saw some papers cancelled by authorities.

Some papers written in the ongoing WASSCE exams has been leaked – but head of WAEC, Rev Dr Sam Nmai Ollenu says the papers were not leaked but some students had fore-knowledge of the papers.

The difference between a leaked paper and fore-knowledge according to WAEC is “Leakages are when papers come out at least 24 hours before a scheduled exam but fore-knowledge is when the papers come out only hours to the exam”

This means, this years’ leakage of exams questions will not be cancelled – But Mr Baako is worried about the trend which has been a canker.

"We better take a critical look at the systems from the time questions are set; printed and transmitted. The leakages happen at the transmission level" he stated.
