Armed Forces warns against sale of fake recruitment forms 7/20/2014

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) says its attention has been drawn to the sale of fake recruitment forms by some unscrupulous individuals to unsuspecting persons wishing to join the Forces.

In a statement issued Friday, the GAF said no such recruitment exercise is taking place. It said recruitment into the Ghana Armed Forces is always advertised in both the print and electronic media and this has not been done.

“Additionally, no organization or individuals, including soldiers, have been contracted as intermediaries or recruiting agents. The public is therefore advised not to pay for any such forms as those involved are fraudsters.

“The Ghana Armed Forces also seeks the support of the general public to arrest those engaged in this illegal sale of recruitment forms to help curb the menace of recruitment fraud. In view of this, the public is advised to report such individuals, including soldiers, who claim to have the ability to recruit or are selling forms to the nearest Police Station or military installation.

“We wish to assure the general public that anytime recruitment into the Ghana Armed Forces is due, same would be published in the media, the statement signed by Lieutenant Commander Andy La-Anyane, Deputy Director in Charge of Public Relations on behalf of the Acting Director of Public Relations said.
