Ambassador Tony Aidoo visits Ghanaians in Amsterdam 6/15/2014

Ghana’s Ambassador to The Kingdom of the Netherlands, Dr. Tony Aidoo has said that the amount presently paid by Ghanaians who crave to denounce their nationality is not a decision from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs but from the Ministry of Interior and was endorsed by the Parliament in Ghana. He made this comment when he had a Town Hall Meeting with Ghanaian on Saturday 14th June 2014 in Amsterdam.
He said Ghanaians with other nationalities are entitled to Dual Citizenship. It is up to those Ghanaians to pass through the proper procedures to obtaining the necessary documentation to acquire the Ghanaian passports once again. He stressed that he is an Ambassador for all Ghanaians and not single political party. He reiterated that he wanted to discuss the issue of an umbrella organization for Ghanaians but the subject was not raised by any of the participants. He advised that the problems Ghanaians are facing in the Netherlands may be channeled through his office to be addressed. He promised to pay similar visits the other cities in the Netherlands to meet Ghanaians. The Town Hall meeting was attended by religious bodies, heads of associations and a cross section of Ghanaians.
