Recogin Health Information on Good Nutrition & Body Exercices 12/16/2012
The Health Education Evening organised by RECOGIN and the GA-Dangme group for all
Ghanaians in Amsterdam yesterday 15 december, was a big success not only because the attendance was good but also the due to the interactive nature of the discussions. The invited speaker Dr. Rishiprakash Madari, trained in the U.S.A., France and Holland, is an “Äyurvedic” Health Consultant, specialised in Indian medicine, nutrition and massage. He practises with his father who is a medical consultant for more than 30 years in Holland.

The key points he discussed as necessary to maintaining good health were :
1. Stress management. 2. Good Nutrition. 3. Sports 4. Education and 5. Responsibility.
He advised that the process of good health maintenance must be continuous and not piecemeal. He talked about the important food nutrients and how best to get them. He then advised people with black skin to supplement their food intake with vitamin D in the winter season to avoid the risk of falling victim to other illnesses.

At the end of the lecture, the audience, who also participated fully in the discussions, could distinguish between internal and external stress, saturated and unsaturated fats, the two types of carbohydrates, etc. In short he advised us to bring changes into our diet by eating more vegetables and fruits and less of carbohydrates.

“Body exercises”, he said, “are important because it keeps blood flowing and burn excessive fat.” Exercises must cause sweating to full benefit from it. The speaker advised all who sport or engage in serious body exercise to eat protein foods.
He advised Ghanaians to consult him through Recogin on health and nutrition problems on good rebate.
