Ghana Music Week rescheduled for March 2013 10/14/2012
The Musician Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), has announced the rescheduling of the maiden edition of the Ghana Music Week (GMW).

The event, which was originally scheduled for late October 2012, had to be rescheduled to March 2013 following requests by a number of industry stakeholders and other agencies to participate in the event.

This, the Union in a statement said, will help expand the networking opportunities the Ghana Music Week offers.

The Ghana Music Week was launched by the Minister of Information, Fritz Baffour on September 14.

The festival aims at creating an annual platform to bring together and encourage the participation of music performers and various stakeholders in the creative sector.

The statement said, “It will also provide a one stop total entertainment experience for the music and creative arts industry as a whole.”

It added that, GMW will showcase the different genres of Ghanaian music as well as the various arts on the local and international fronts including “complementing and enhancing the teaching, learning, and growth process of the music industry and the creative sector as a whole.”
