GFA to set up fund for destitute ex-players 7/1/2012

The Ghana Football Association will soon announce an endowment fund for impoverished ex-footballers.

The fund will receive an initial seed capital from the Football Association and also contributions from the public and professional players.

Access to the fund will be made available for ex-footballers who are financially handicapped.

''''The time has come for our heroes to be honoured during their life time," Ghana FA spokesperson Ibrahim Sannie-Daara disclosed.

"The fund would ensure our past heroes are adequately taken care of in order for them not to regret their invaluable services to the nation."
