Black Sticks still hopeful 10/5/2005
The national men’s hockey team will make a last gasp step towards honours at the African Hockey Championships in Pretoria when they take on Namibia this afternoon.

Ghana has yet to record a point after two matches in the men’s contest, having lost to tougher guns Egypt and host South Africa.

And after the ladies failed to grab an opportunity to win silver yesterday, there seems to be a lot of pressure on the men to salvage Ghana’s campaign.

Coach of the side, Winfred Sackey, told Joy Sports, his team stands a good chance of grabbing a bronze medal if they record a good result in today’s clash.
