18:00 The sad-happy story of Angola 2010 has just began. Thousands of supporters have gathered at the brand new 11th November stadium in Luanda ready for the opening ceremony.

Host President Dos Santos presents a short but emotional speech encouraging supporters to rally behind the nation in this history making event.

He expresses regrets over the shooting incident in Cabinda on Saturday which claimed three Togolese lives.

He officially declares the tournament opened, paving the way for rich African cultural displays and exhibitions to begin.
