Finance Minister to present budget statement 2/28/2009

The Minister for Finance, Dr. Kwabena Dufuor is expected to present this year’s budget statement and economic policy of the government to parliament on Thursday, 5th March. The Majority Leader, Alban Bagbin announced this when he presented the business statement for next week. Meanwhile, the ingoing debate on the President state of the Nation Address is expected to end to Tuesday.

Earlier, the clerk to Parliament, Emmanuel Anyimadu informed the House about the absence of the speaker, Mrs. Justice Joyce Banford Addo from the House due to illness. The Minority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu had demanded why the first Deputy Speaker Edward Doe Adjaho was occupying the chair when no reason of the speaker’s absence had been assigned.
