Castro nominated for Black Music Awards 10/9/2007
The aim of making it into the international music terrain has remained a headache for many of our young generationof hiplifers. Though many have pushed and pushed they arenot making or giving the recognition they want or desire.

Others have also in time past had series of invitation to attend concerts and award programs in our neighboring countries all geared at gaining international exposures.

Names of the “Kangaroo man” Tic Tac, last year MOBO award winner Samini, KK Fosu among others easily springs up when such great occasions come up.

One such hiplife artist who is about to make a name on the international scene is Ghana Music Award winner Castro D’Destroyer. He has been officially nominated and invited to attend and perform two of his hit tracks at the upcoming3rd Annual Black Music Awards 07 slated for the capital of Benin, Cotonou on the 30th of November and 1st December 2007. He has been nominated in the category of “African Best New Act”.

Speaking to close sources of his management, the nomination came as no surprise to them as they have worked tirelessly to attain such a feat. We have done ourhomework well and it’s not surprising that he has been nominated in this category and we can tell the whole of Ghana that we are going to bring the award.

When Weekly Fylla chanced upon the invitation letter, a portion of it read; I’m glad to confirm you that Castro Da Destroyer is nominated to in the category of “African best new act”.

He is invited to attend the festival which is set in Cotonou, Benin on the November 30th and December 01st. He’s programmed to perform two songs at the concert on 30th and one song play back at the awards party on December 1st. The organization of BMA takes charge of the transport of the artist and his manager, hotel and other expenses during the festival”.

Weekly Fylla would do the necessary follow-ups and let readers know if any other local artist has been nominated and what the preparations are like. This is another step in achieving the landmark Ghanaian artists want to set on the continent and we hope they are able to set the right standards.
