Kotoko Player Goes AWOL In Germany 8/1/2007
The first batch of players and officials of Kumasi Asante Kotoko will be arriving in Accra on Monday evening from Germany where they undertook a two-week training tour.

However the team is arriving without a member of the playing body, John Nana Acheampong.

The player is reported to have absconded from the team’s camp last week.

Though the club reported the incident to the German security authorities, the latter were unwilling to investigate the matter with the excuse that as far as they were concerned, the player had a valid visa and could therefore not be considered to be a wanted man.

Nana Acheampong was part of the youth team assembled for Kotoko during the Herbert Mensah administration and was recently promoted to the senior team.
