AAG: Ghana Claims 24 Medals 7/24/2007
Ghana’s medal haul at the All Africa Games in Algiers shot to 24 after Vida Anim and Seth Amoo won two silver medals in the 200 metres final yesterday.
At the time of going to press, Egypt was leading with 159 medals, 60 gold, 52 silver and 47 bronze. The host nation is close behind with 57 gold, 48 silver and 60 bronze. South Africa, who dominated the swimming with 53 medals, are third with 52 gold, 48 silver and 45 bronze

Last Saturday, Margaret Simpson won Ghana’s third gold medal in the heptathlon, followed later in the day by the Black Princesses who won a bronze medal in the women’s football competition and four more silver medals from boxing.

In the end, Ghana had three gold, 10 silver and 11 bronze medals through handisport (which contributed nine medals), tennis, boxing, football and track and field events.
