Becca Mounts An International Platform 6/19/2007
TV3 Network did a very great job by introducing Mentor onto our screens with its main objective being to unearth hidden musical talents in the Ghanaian youth; that is ?taking them raw and making them row?.

Rebecca Akosua Acheampomaa Acheampong with ?Becca? for short contested in the screening process of the second edition of Mentor and also qualified in the Ashanti Region but had to quit the competition somewhere along the line due to the contents of the contract attached to the program and also on personal grounds.

A lot of people did not side with her when she took that bold step to quit, but to her quitting Mentor did not mean quitting music.

Ghanaian music fans would attest to the fact that Becca has added a new flavor to the music industry with her debut album.

The beautiful, simple and young looking 22 year old lady, an old student of Wesley Girls High School in Cape Coast and Croydon College in London where she attained her certificate in Child Care and Education is back to her motherland Ghana to prove what she is made of.

Her yet to be released debut album which is enjoying air play both on radio and Television is truly a good finished product.

She featured Hue Massakela a great musician from South Africa on her track ?I love you? and he also gave her directions on some of her tracks.

Her record label E.K.B Entertainment and Chisa records that of Hue Massakela in South Africa are collaborating to have some world tours and an album as well. Through her album Ghana music is gaining some weight in South Africa and this awesome album will officially be launched in May 2007.

Becca?s project was produced by great sound engineers in the country like Kwame Yeboah at Kiki?s Studios, Nana Fynn and all tracks are mixed by Kwame Yeboah. She is under E.K.B Entertainment with Emmanuel Kiki Banson as the CEO and managed by Paa Kwasi Holdbrook-Smith of Hamattan Management.

The album ?Sugar? as the title track has 12 tracks on the CD and 8 on the cassette and the current reigning track ?You Lied To Me? with its glamorous video featured the silky voiced man; Kwabena Kwabena.

Now she is concentrating solely on her musical career but has plans of going back to school and also feels really great not participating in Mentor but holds nothing against TV3 and still watches Mentor on TV.

Weekly Fylla in an interview with Becca asked why she took TV3 to court after quitting Mentor she said she cannot say anything now since the case is still in court but can only comment after the final verdict is passed.

She concluded that the experience has motivated her to work very hard towards this album to let the whole world know the musical side of Becca and what she is in to add to the Ghana Music Industry.
