Okocha in Sydney FC talks 6/9/2007
Nigerian star Jay Jay Okocha is expected to open formal talks with Australian side Sydney FC next week over joining the club in August.

The 33-year-old, who joined Qatar FC last year, is coming towards the end a season-long deal with the Qatari side.

Sydney FC coach Branko Culina is keen on the former captain of the Super Eagles as Dutchman Phillip Cocu continues to waver over joining the Australian A-League club.

According to Sydney''s Daily Telegraph an offer will be made to Okocha next week.

While Cocu remains the first choice of Culina, there are concerns within the club that their shortlist of stars will not be available by the time Cocu has made a decision.

Okocha moved to the Middle East after a career at clubs including Bolton, Paris Saint-Germain, Fenerbahce and Eintracht Frankfurt.
