Vote for CPP to salvage the economy - Dr Osafo 4/19/2007
Damongo (N/R), April 16, GNA- Dr Kwaku Osafo, a leading member of the Convention People''s Party (CPP) has appealed to Ghanaians to critically examine the political parties and their ideologies and vote into power the one that could salvage the economy.

He said the CPP had all the potentials it takes to offer good governance and economic freedom to Ghanaians, adding that it would salvage the economy to ensure that the country regained its past glory. Dr Osafo said these at Damongo in the Damongo-Daboya constituency when he cut the tape to open a new CPP constituency office at Damongo. He said the opening of the offices would help members to effectively work and strengthen the party structures to win more people to the party.

Leading members of the party in the constituency built the office, which would also used as a rallying and motivating point for foot the soldiers to collectively work to win the 2008 elections. Dr Osafo said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) had "woefully" disappointed Ghanaians and that it was necessary to vote them out.

He said this time round, Ghanaians should try an alternative party, which was sensitive to their sufferings to improve their living conditions.

He advised other politicians against tribal politics, which he said had the tendency to further divide the people and that it would impact negatively on the lives and business of the people. Mr. Forgor Abubakar Jedua, a leading member of the party in the constituency said there was the need to protect the country''s resources and ensure that Ghanaians controlled their own assets to improve the economy.

He appealed to all in the constituency to rally behind the CPP to win the 2008 elections for good governance.

"The NDC and the NPP had their chances to rule this country and they abused the it, so let us vote a new party into power to reverse the NPP and NDC dominance," he stressed.

Mr. Jedua expressed the hope that the CPP would win the Damongo-Daboya Parliamentary seat and advised the foot soldiers of the party to persevere and work harder to win more Ghanaians to the party for victory in 2008. 16 April 07Source:
