Nduom is hot! 4/12/2007
The Patriots, a pressure group in the Convention Peoples Party (CPP) has accused Public Sector Reform Minister, Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom, of clandestine tactics to destabilise the CPP.

Speaking to Joy News, a leading member of the Patriots, Mr Kosi Dede, said the group has information that Dr Nduom is on the verge of forming a new political party out of the CPP.

The Daily Dispatch newspaper had published that some members of the CPP are planning to form a new party expected to be out-doored in August this year to contest the 2008 elections.

The paper however failed to name those behind the party. But the Patriots group say its evidence implicates Dr. Nduom, who is also the CPP’s Member of Parliament for Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abirem as the brain behind the new party.

He said: “We as Patriots and members of the CPP, we have been aware that Dr Nduom specifically has been sending emissaries around and collecting signatories and telling them about the formation of movements. The collection of names and signatories is based on deceit.”

Mr Dede alleged that they have even gone to the Volta region to lure people with money to entice them to put down their signatories.

He however says the formation of the new party will not affect the CPP’s drive to reorganise and provide a credible force in the 2008 polls.

“Nobody has a monopoly over Nkrumaist ideology so anyone can form a party and call it an Nkrumaist party. What happens is that the electorates get more confused and wonder we as an Nkrumaists party are presenting a united front to them so it would naturally affect the fortunes of the party,” he said.
