Sarpei set for Wolfsburg exit 3/22/2007
Ghana defender Han Adu Sarpei says he will leave German Bundesliga side Wolfsburg at the end of the season.

The 30-year-old, who joined the club in 2001, will not extend his contract when it expires in June.

"I will not seek an extension to my contract with Wolfsburg in the summer," Sarpei told BBC Sport on Thursday.

"After seven six years at this club, I think it is time for me to move on and try other things."

Sarpei has failed to hold down a regular position at Wolfsburg since falling out with coach Klaus Augenthaler and says he is looking elsewhere to gain first-team place.

"I can''t say my relationship with the coach is excellent but it is not bad," Sarpei said.

"I want to be playing regular top-class football therefore I have to leave.

"I started my football career in Germany and I think it is time to consider leaving for another country or even maybe stay here with another club."

Despite denying reports in the German media linking him to Fulham, Sarpei did not rule out a move if contacted by the English side.

"I have not received an offer from Fulham but I will not turn down an offer from a good English side," he said.

"Fulham is a good club and I will consider offers from clubs in England and other good leagues in Europe when my contract expires."

Sarpei, who was a member of Ghana''s World Cup 2006 squad, is the Bundesliga outfit''s longest-serving player.
