One Touch Jams Accra 3/13/2007
For the ordinary Ghanaian, a Golden Jubilee without jamming is certainly not worth celebrating. That is why One Touch Tele-communication Company, in collaboration with the Ghana @ 50 Secretariat deemed it necessary to provide the platform for the ordinary Ghanaian to be part of the celebrations.

At the forecourt of the State House last Saturday, thousands of jubilee celebrants thronged the premises for what can best be described as one of the nation’s biggest music concerts in the region.

Rocking the entire venue with music from the oldies and that of recent times were dozens of some of the country’s high profiled artistes. On one stage and on one night, these musicians gave a new meaning to the jubilee celebrations by getting every Tom Dick and Harry involved.

Complimenting performances of the artistes by getting every body cheering, singing and dancing were MCs, Bola Ray, Abeiku Santana and Papa Sly. The legendary Nana Ampadu was there, and so was Asabea Cropper, AB Crentsil, Reggie Rockstone, King Ayisoba, Obrafour, Obour, Samini, Kwaw Kese, Rex Omar, Ramblers Band and many many others.

Amidst ear deafening jubilations, singing and dancing, different sizes of the national flag went high-up in the sky as patrons of the night danced their feet-off. For viewers who watched the live telecast of the event on GTV, the night probably brought back memories of what transpired at the Polo Grounds in 1957.

According to officials of One Touch and the Ghana @ 50 Secretariat, led by Mr. Wereko Brobbey, the CEO of the Secretariat, the concert was to ensure that everybody is involved in the Jubilee celebrations. He expressed his warmest gratitude to One Touch for their patriotism and asked all Ghanaians to be part of the celebrations.

Mr. Wereko Brobbey later joined the organisers of the event to distribute miniature national flags to all present. The highlife to hiplife concert was graced by the president of Musiga, Alhaji Sidiku Buari and other officials from the Ghana @ 50 Secretariat and One Touch.
