Drogba is Africa’s Best Player 3/2/2007
Ivorian and Chelsea striker Didier Drogba was on Thursday night named Africa’s Best Footballer for 2006 at the Glo/CAF Awards held in Accra.

The 28-year-old Drogba was dressed in kingly fashion: traditional headgear and traditional clothes and sandals to match as he received his award from Ghana’s President J.A. Kufuor.

Earlier Drogba had been ushered unto the podium dressed in suits as he was named among the continent’s finest eleven, and must have been totally convinced of picking the ultimate award ahead of Samuel Eto’o and Michael Essien.
