Queen starts visit to Turkey 3/1/2007
AMSTERDAM – Queen Beatrix starts her four-day state visit to Turkey today at the invitation of President Ahmet Sezer

Prince Willem-Alexander and Princess Máxima will accompany her.

The queen will arrive in the capital of Ankara today, where the military will be on hand to welcome the Dutch delegation. The queen will lay a wreath at the national monument to honour the "father of modern Turkey," Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

The queen, prince and princess will visit President Ahmet Sezer, the Parliament, and Prime Minister Recep Erdogan. They will also pay a visit to a primary school.

The royal visitors will dine at the presidential palace tonight. Both the queen and Turkish president will hold a speech during the dinner.
