Mpiani To Face Parliament Today 2/28/2007
Wednesday, 28 February 2007
The Chief of Staff and Minister for Presidential Affairs, Mr. Kwadwo Mpiani is expected to come before Parliament’s Finance Committee today to give account of how the government is disbursing the $20 million voted for the golden jubilee celebrations. Mr. Mpiani is the Chairman the National Planning Committee which disburses and approves projects through the Ghana@50 Secretariat.

Majority Leader, Felix Owusu-Agyapong told the House that Mr. Mpiani will appear before the Committee after the Parliamentary Committee initially invited the Chief Executive of the Ghana@50 Secretariat, Dr. Charles Wereko-Brobby.

But Minority Leader, Alban Bagbin insists Dr Wereko-Brobby must accompany the Chief of Staff since his office was directly responsible for disbursement on the celebrations and may be better placed to offer detailed explanations on issues.
