Brainpoint Set To Organize First Ghana Music Videos 2/21/2007
Music, as the only universal language, moves beyond the provision of entertainment for the peoples of the world and serves as a medium through which people learn about each other''s culture.

For instance, through music, Ghanaians who have not had the opportunity to travel outside their country may know a little bit about the people and cultures of other countries.

This is made possible largely through the video clips that accompany the foreign music that is broadcast on the various television networks as well as the musical DVD, VCD and VHS that people buy to use in their private home video systems.

This helps in many ways to market communities and also help to plant one''s country on the international map.

In this respect, Brain point Entertainment has initiated moves to launch a music video awards event to challenge and also encourage musicians and music video directors in Ghana to produce music videos that will among other things: present and promote Ghanaian culture in a more positive light, offer the public decent entertainment devoid of nudity, offensive language and violent actions, express professionalism that will make Ghanaian music videos internationally acceptable, among others.

Brain Point Entertainment is organising the first Ghana Music Videos Awards with technical support from the Musicians Union of Ghana, (MUSIGA), the National Film and Television Institute, (NAFTI), the Ministries of Tourism and Culture, MTV Base, as well as a technical committee comprising key players in the media and music industry.

The event shall be presented as a competition in which the entry that attracts the most votes in each category will be declared winner.

After the deadline for the receipt of all entries, a grand ceremony will be held to present awards to winners in the various categories. The awards ceremony will be preceded by workshops and seminars for players in the music industry to share ideas on ways to develop the industry in general and music videos in particular.

The entries that win the Top Awards will be aired on international networks such as MTV under special arrangements between Brain Point Entertainment and operators of those networks.

The criteria for selection of nominees was given the organizers as video directors, musicians, production houses will be given the opportunity to submit their videos released between a period and the video should have at least enjoy six month of release period.

Submitted videos should have the following elements, good directing, good picture quality, good sound quality, good editing, lighting etc.

Within the relatively short period of its establishment, BRIANPOINT Media Productions Limited has provided technical advice and support, in the form of lighting, stage design, artiste co-ordination etc, for great events such as Kojo Antwi''s 24th December bash, Ghana Music Awards, Miss Malaika, Spacefon Legend, Shaggy, Boyz II Men and Akon Live In Ghana Kelvin Little and Wanye wonder in Ghana, Coca-cola Easter Jam, ''Joy nite with stars 06'', ''Sean Paul live in Ghana'' and many other events.
