Hundreds commemorate murdered shopkeeper 2/14/2007
AMSTERDAM - About 600 people took part in a silent march for murdered shopkeeper of the La Nuit night shop in Amsterdam-Noord on Tuesday. The 29-year-old owner of the shop was shot dead last Thursday.

The organisers of the procession were pleased with the turnout. The police said the event was “dignified and respectful.”

The shopkeeper of the night shop was shot late last Thursday night by two men who have still not been identified. He was seriously injured and died shortly after. The police have not yet made any arrests.

A team of 25 officers distributed 1,500 flyers in the neighbourhoods around the shop in the hope of gaining more information about the shooting.
