Journalist Death: Nobody Arrested 2/13/2007
The Ashanti Regional Police Commander Deputy Commissioner of Police Adu Poku has denied media reports that one person has been arrested in connection with the murder of the region’s GJA chairman Samuel Ennin. Earlier media reports had suggested that the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Dr. K. K. Manfo had said the police in Kumasi have arrested a prime suspect in the killing of Stephen Ennin.

But addressing a press conference this afternoon DCOP Adu Poku said no arrest have been made as of now. He however informed the press of the intensification of police investigations to get to the bottom of the incident.

Ennin, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Ghana Journalists Association and also the Editor of Ashh FM, a local radio station in Kumasi, was shot by unknown gunmen in the evening of Friday at a popular spot at Pankrono Estate in Kumasi.
