Vogts agrees to coach Nigeria 2/9/2007
German coach Berti Vogts has confirmed he will be soon take charge of Nigeria and will remain with them until the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
"My task is to lead Nigeria to the 2008 Africa Nations Cup and to the 2010 World Cup finals," Vogts said.

The 60-year-old was speaking in London where he watched Nigeria''''s 4-1 defeat to Ghana in a friendly on Tuesday. Vogts has been in talks with Nigerian officials for several weeks has now agreed a three-and-a-half-year deal.

Vogts coached Germany from 1990 to 1998, guiding the team to the 1996 European title and was the manager of Scotland''''s national side from 2002 to 2004.

He also played in Germany''''s 1974 World Cup-winning squad.
