Zimbabwe call off Lesotho match 2/9/2007
Zimbabwe have been forced to abandon their proposed friendly on 7 February with Lesotho due to financial problems.
The Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa) were unable to raise the US$30,000 needed to transport the 19-man squad to the fixture.

The game was part of the Warrior''s preparations for the 2008 African Cup of Nations qualifier game against Morocco on 25 March.

Warrior''s coach Charles Mhlauri said: "We now have a mountain to climb and as I have said before, this is not the best way to prepare for the big game against Morocco.

"Of course, we could arrange one or two friendlies but that would be for locally-based players some of whom will not be in the picture for the Morocco match and that makes life difficult in terms of the actual preparation.

"We have lost a great opportunity to assess the foreign-based players and see where our weak areas are because between now and the time we play Morocco we will not get the chance to bring all the players together.

Mhlauri''s predicament has also been worsened by the fact that the local Premiership is on an off-season break and the league would have only been two weeks into the 2007 season by the time the Warriors go into camp for the Morocco game.
