Concern about uranium in Oosterhout 1/31/2007
31 January 2007

AMSTERDAM – The municipality of Oosterhout will not build any homes on the former waste dumping site Korenbocht.

Alderman Frank Gerbrands said this on Tuesday during an information meeting on the recent discovery of high concentrations (by Dutch standards) of uranium in the groundwater in the vicinity of the dump.

Five experts assured those present that the uranium poses no danger to public health.
