Watson House - champions of Aggrey Memorial athletics 1/31/2007
Cape Coast, Jan. 30, GNA - One record was broken in the 66th edition of Inter Houses athletic competition of Aggrey Memorial Zion Secondary School at the Schools sports grounds at Cape Coast.

John Afedzi of Watson House set the new record in the Shot Putt event with a throw of 14.5 metres to erase the previous record of 13.8 metres. Watson House bagged 125 points to lift the championship trophy followed by Pinanko House at the second position with 75 pints, Enchil House placed third with 47 points while Casford House came fourth with 54 and half points.

In the girls division, Lucille House came first with 97 points followed by New House at the second position with 75 and half points, Segbefia House was third with 75 points while Catherine House came fourth with 45 points.

Meshale Mensah of Watson House was declared the best athlete after placing in both the 200 metres and 400 metres events. The headmaster of the school, Mr Appiah Danquah commended the various Houses for their show of good sportsmanship and discipline during the competition.

Mr Danquah advised the athletes who have been selected to represent the School at the Inter-Schools and Colleges competition to train harder to achieve success and bring laurels to the School. 30 Jan. 07Source:
