Obodai demands Sparta exit 1/29/2007

Anthony Obodai has made his intentions to leave Sparta Rotterdam clear.
Sparta Rotterdam''s Ghana midfielder Anthony Obodai has told the Dutch club he wants to leave before the close of the transfer window on Wednesday.
The 24-year-old was expelled from the club''s training ground by coach Wiljan Vloet on Friday after a furious row over team selection.

Obodai has given up the captaincy and wants to speak to interested clubs.

"The club have treated me in a manner I think is disrespectful. It''s time for me to move on," he said.

?I recently missed two games through illness and even though I am fully fit now I am being told to sit on the bench,? Obodai told BBC Sport on Monday.

?I will not accept this as the club''s most outstanding player.

"I am keen on fighting for a place in my national team and place on my club?s bench will diminish my chances.

?Sparta have received offers from Dutch clubs PSV, Feyenoord, and RKC Waaljwik as well as Nice in France.

?Some of these clubs have met their financial demands so they should allow me leave immediately. I am not happy here.

"I love the club, I am grateful to the fans for their constant support but this situation is not good for me and not good for Sparta.?

Obodai has played in 47 games for Sparta Rotterdam since moving from rivals Ajax Amsterdam in 2005.

He joined Ajax in 2001 and made his league debut against Heerenveen in November 2004, playing 32 matches in total for the team.
