Acceptgiro payments have had their day 1/26/2007

The big three Dutch banks – ING, ABN Amro and Rabobank – are working together on phasing out the current system of payment by acceptgiro (through which companies and local authorities send customers a ready-prepared cheque to sign).

The banks say they can make considerable savings by replacing the paper payment system with internet-based billing, the Financieele Dagblad reported.
