Lawyers to get go ahead to recruit clients 1/26/2007
Thursday 25 January 2007

Dutch lawyers are to be given the go-ahead to actively recruit clients, Els Unger, of the Nederlandse Orde van Advocaten (Dutch Bar Association) told the Pers newspaper on Thursday.

Lawyers have only been allowed to advertise their services since the end of the 1980s and directly approaching potential clients is still against the rules. The new rules will be finalised in March, Unger said.
