Congo''s youth off to dream start 1/21/2007
Congo kicked off their hosting of the African Youth Championship in perfect fashion on Saturday as they beat Ivory Coast 2-0 in Brazzaville.

Coach Eddy Hudanski saw his under-20 side go top of Group A thanks to two goals from Fabrice Nguessi Ondama.

The forward opened the scoring after 55 minutes and then doubled the Red Devils'' lead ten minutes later.

In front of a packed crowd at the 25,000-capacity Massamba-Débat stadium, Ivory Coast struggled to dent the Congolese defence.

In the day''s other Group A game, Gambia beat Burkina Faso 2-0 to share top spot with Congo.

Jallow Osman headed the Gambians in front after 62 minutes before Abdoulaye Kenmansally wrapped up the scoring three minutes later.

Both Congo and Gambia have three points at the top of the group.

On Sunday, Group B gets underway as holders Nigeria play Zambia while both Cameroon and Egypt go in search of their first points later in the day.
