Team Set To Negotiate Health Workers'' Salaries 1/18/2007
A team to negotiate conditions of services of health sector employees has been inaugurated in Accra.

It will, among other things, develop a base document and keep up to date information on the Conditions of Service and Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for service delivery.

A statement issued on Monday by the Ministry of Health and signed by the Public Relations Officer, Dan Osman Mwin, said the 12-member team would also develop strategies for ensuring industrial peace and harmony.

In his inaugural address, Lepowura M.N.D. Jawula, Chief Director of the Ministry, asked the team to work towards a unitary system in the health sector.

They should also work with due diligence and to let their deliberations centre on issues that would bring about industrial peace and harmony in the health sector to erase the erroneous impression among health workers that the ministry was not doing anything to rectify the distortions in the new salary structure.

Dr. Yaw Antwi-Boasiako, Director of Human Resource of the Ministry and convener of the team, expressed appreciation to the Minister for the confidence reposed in them.
