Vogts confirms Nigeria talks 1/13/2007
Former Germany coach Berti Vogts has confirmed that he is in talks with Nigeria over becoming the new Super Eagles manager.

Officials of Nigeria Football Association (NFA) met the coach in Germany on Friday to talk about the deal.

Several names have been touted as potential candidates to take charge of the Super Eagles, but former Scotland coach Vogts has emerged as the front-runner.

"We have already spoken and are going to see what are the possibilities," Vogts told the Berliner Zeitung newspaper on Saturday.

The 60-year-old Vogts coached Germany from 1990 to 1998, guiding the team to the 1996 European title.

He also played in Germany''''s 1974 World Cup winning squad.
