Man Sells Wife’s Parts For Roofing Sheets 1/12/2007
Residents of Adobokrom in the Bia District of the Western Region are in a state of fear and shock, following the gruesome murder of one Madam Adwoa Mensa (a.k.a. Adwoa Nyamekye) on December 18 last year. Available information made available to The D. Dispatch indicates that Adwoa Nyamekye’s body was found in the family house of her husband, Kojo Amoah (a.k.a K.K), a returnee from Spain.

Parts of the body of the deceased, including the tongue, heart and private parts, were missing before the body was taken to the Sunyani Government Hospital for autopsy.

K.K. who is suspected to be behind the murder, has since been arrested by the Adabokrom Police. Two of his accomplices, Kojo Kokore and one Alhaji, have also been arrested. All the three suspects are in Police custody pending further investigations.

The investigations by the Adabokrom Police revealed that K.K. also confessed selling parts of the wife to the Alhaji for 10 packets of roofing sheets.

When The D. Dispatch contacted the parents, an uncle of the deceased who is also the chief of Kwamebikrom in the Bia District, Nana Kwame Bi III, said his deceased niece came to him to complain of persistent assaults on her by the husband, K.K. and that she wanted a divorce.

Nana Kwame Bi said following the complaint, he delegated one Kofi Badu to accompany the deceased to Adabokrom to ensure that the matter was resolved amicably. On arrival at Adbokrom, the delegation was asked by K.K. to come on a later date for the divorce with the reason that his family members were not available. However, K.K. asked the deceased to accompany him to his residence for some discussions.

Mr Kofi Badu after waiting for sometime without the deceased returning became suspicious and therefore decided to look for her. At K.K.’s family house, Mr Badu and the eldest son of the deceased were prevented from entering the house. After all pleas failed, Mr Badu contacted the Adabokrom Police who broke the door of the deceased’s husband’s room only to find her body lying in a pool of blood.

The Police subsequently arrested K.K. who confessed to the killing of the wife together with his brother Kojo Kokore and an Alhaji in the town.
