Suzzie Williams very last shots
Last week Tuesday was the last occasion that Suzzy Williams went on location, got herself ready and positioned herself in front of the cameras.

As usual, the director of Bloody Mary, Prince Andrew Odei was calling the shots.” Standby, camera rolling, sound, action.”

The shooting of two episodes of the TV series 12 and 13 went on at La beach between 4pm and 7pm. After that, additional shooting was done at he Yegoala Night Club at Dansoman till close to midnight.

That was the last time that the blossoming actress was going to face the cameras. Barely 24 hours later, she was dead.

According to director Odei,Suzzy was her usual brilliant self and went through her paces smoothly. Everyone was in a high spirits joking, laughing and chiding each other.

“I had forgotten to mention to the cast that we would continue at Yegoala after the beach and so when I announced that we would continue there, most of them were not too happy, Suzzie included.

From about 10pm she became restless after receiving persistent phone calls but she stayed to complete her tasks like a true professional.

“That was our last meeting. For me,Suzzy was one of the best actresses I have ever worked with. She gives you what you want without any hustle.

She can be very resourceful and so for most of her roles in the series I only describe what I want her to do and she improvises perfectly”,Odei said.

Adwoa Pee, who plays mother to Suzzie in Bloody Mary also recounted Suzzie’s last shooting session and told Graphic’s Kate Baaba Hudson that she was her usual bubbling self throughout.

“She would run to where Eunice Banini and I were sitting, pick my khebab, pick my glass of drink and have a sip and run back for her next shot.

“It was one such time when she threw her arms around me that Eunice took a picture of the two of us and that happened to be the last picture that I would ever have taken with her,”Adwoa said.

I wish I could read her actions that day, or that somebody could understand all that she was doing for us to do something.

I now realize that she was giving us a message but none of us there could understand that she was no longer going to be with us.” Mrs Cecilia Williams, mother of the deceased had a premonition that she would be in some kind of trouble when Suzzie left home hurriedly on Wednesday afternoon last week.

According to her,Suzzy came back from town about 3.20pm and asked for her birth certificate because she needed it to complete her visa forms for a trip.

Suzzie’s mum said as they searched through their stuff for the certificate, her hand struck a bottle of perfume they both use and it dropped onto the floor and broke.

Suddenly it dawned on her that it was unusual for such a thick bottle to be smashed and she felt it was an ominous sign so she went looking for Suzzie to ask her not to go out with the car that day, but she had already left the house with Edwin, his boyfriend who was waiting in the car downstairs.

Mrs Williams said, following that incident, she had a funny feeling the whole day that something untoward was going to happen to her daughter.

She tried concentrating to will her daughter home as she did sometimes but her attempts proved futile. To take off the pressure on her, due to that funny feeling she was having, she said she walked about on their compound late into the evening with the hope that she would be able to shake off the feeling while hoping and praying that Suzzie will come back home.

“I had the same feeling when Suzzie had her first accident with this same car a couple of months ago. I suddenly felt something was not right and called everywhere I knew she would be, including her friends to ask where she was. When later Suzzie came home she had a swollen face and said she had had an accident”

Mrs Cecilia Williams said her worst fears were confirmed when they received a call in the early hours of last Thursday that Suzzie was in a coma at the Lister Clinic where Suzzie died later in their presence.
