Accra(GH) – 09 January 2007 - The president of Musician Union of Ghana
(MUSIGA), Alhaji Sidiku Buhari, has stated that this year, miming by
Ghanaian musicians on stage would completely be rule-out.

He advised Ghanaian musicians to work extra hard to enable them perform
live with instruments.

“Miming will go out completely in the year 2007. Musicians must play live.
Live band and live performances is now a must to professional musicians”,
he said.

He disclosed this in a New Year message to all Ghanaian musicians in
Accra.

He explained that Ghana is now 50 years and has been championing the cause
of African excellence, and as such, live performances would help prove that
to the whole world, as people of different nationalities visit Ghana from
January to December 2007.

He wished all musicians and the entire nation a happy and prosperous New
Year.

On the Ghana at 50 celebrations, the MUSIGA president said he hoped this
year would be a special one for all the musicians and the entire nation.

Alhaji Sidiku Buhari appealed to all event organisers to assist musicians

He, however, declared that “MUSIGA will not sit unconcerned for any event
organiser to bring in foreign musicians into the country and pay them
colossal $100,000 to $150,000”, without settling what was due MUSIGA.

The MUSIGA president used this platform to congratulate Charterhouse
Productions, one of Ghana’s finest event organizers, for their good work.

He advised both new and old event organisers in Ghana to take a cue from
