Toney Lose 1/8/2007
HOLLYWOOD, Fla. - Former IBF champion Roman Karmazin of Russia (35-2-1) stopped Ghana`s James Toney at 2:05 of the fourth round of their scheduled 10-round middleweight bout. Karmazin knocked down Toney (21-3-1), then quickly followed up with a barrage that ended it.
This fight was an undercard to the main fight in which Nigerian Samuel Peter floored another James Toney in the second round on the way to a one-sided unanimous decision to claim the No. 1 spot in the World Boxing Council rankings.
