The number of traffic jams in the Netherlands rose 7.2% last year, bringing the total increase since 2000 to 26%, says traffic information service VID. Top of the list of problem spots was the A4 at Zoeterwoude-Rijndijk, followed by Coenplein on the Amsterdam ring road. The A1 (Amsterdam to Amersfoort) and A2 (Utrecht to Den Bosch) were the busiest stretches of road.
