Baffoe, Yeboah in a Charity Match 12/27/2006
Accra, Dec. 27, GNA-Two Ghanaian soccer legends, Anthony Yeboah and Anthony Baffoe would battle each other in a charity match at the Sekondi Gyandu Park on Saturday, December 30.

The match christened 91Anthony Baffoe XI versus Anthony Yeboah XI'' is aimed at raising funds to support the work of Orphanage Africa at Adenta near Accra.

Baffoe, Coordinator of the programme, who announced this at a Press Conference in Accra on Wednesday, said he was moved by the plight of the disadvantaged in the society and decided to contribute his quota to the needy.

He said "It is also a form of serving this nation and giving back what it has given us".

Baffoe announced that a number of foreign-based players including Anthony Arhinful, Sulley Muntari and Mohammed Gargo are all expected to feature in the match.

The match which is expected to attract 20,000 cedis at the Popular Stand, 50,000 cedis for the Wings and 100,000 cedis for the VIP, is being sponsored by Vanguard Assurance Company Limited, GT Onetouch and Puma.

Baffoe thanked the players for responding positively to the clarion call of ''serving their nation'' in this direction. Chris Tsegah, Marketing Officer of GT Onetouch gave the assurance that his company would continue to support the idea mooted by the former Ghanaian soccer star and urged other companies to contribute meaningfully to a worthy cause.Source:
