Hearts'' coach sure of victory on Sunday 12/21/2006
Accra, Dec 21, GNA 96 Mitko Kostadinov Dobrev, head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club has predicted a sweet victory for the Club in Sunday''s 15th Week clash with their archrivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko. The nation''s two most successful clubs will clash on Christmas eve in the ultimate match of first round of the Onetouch Premier League at the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape Coast.

Speaking to the GNA Sports after Wednesday''s work out at the training grounds in Accra, Dobrev said that victory is the only tool that can aid Hearts'' dream of overtaking Kotoko at the summit of the league table. Hearts lie second, four points adrift of Kotoko who have 30 points and the Bulgarian trainer believes that a win will reduce the gap to a point and with an outstanding game coming soon, he is confident of the Club assuming the leadership of the table. Coach Dobrev said he has intensified his training programme to adequately prepare his boys for the game which he described as different from all other league games. =93Kotoko is one of the strongest sides in the country with a lot of quality materials and the only way to beat them is to prepare well.=94 =93I have a lot of respect for their Turkish coach Telat Uzum and I respect their players too with the likes of Edmund Owusu Ansah, Kwame Obeng Darko and Ahmed Toure among others being able to create some anxious moments for some opposing clubs but I''m not afraid of them.=94

Coach Dobrev said that his squad has been bolstered by the return of central defender Charles Vardis and midfielder Anthony Annan, whose presence he is confident will aid his dream of becoming the third side to beat the current league leaders after Fetteh Feyenoord and Heart of Lions. The Bulgarian trainer disclosed that his midfield and defensive systems which have been one of his major problems have been tightened hence Kotoko will have difficulty in penetrating their lines to create any havoc.

Coach Dobrev added that he is hopes to offer the fans of the Club a special and memorable Christmas package by giving Kotoko a resounding defeat on Sunday. Hearts have beaten their archrivals twice this year when they annexed the GHALCA Top Four as well as the Coca-Cola trophies and with this coach Dobrev is very confident of maintaining the feat of his predecessors.Source:
