KIA suffers power outage 12/19/2006
Accra, Dec 19, GNA - Parts of the Kotoka International Airport (KIA), have been affected by a power outage as a result of an electrical fault.
Rechargeable lamps have therefore been placed in places that had been affected by the outage.
In an interview with GNA, Mr Chris Quaye, Director of Airport Management said although the standby generator had been switched on, electrical power could not reach all parts of the Airport due the fault. He said certain vital parts of the Airport, such as the Control Tower however had been supplied by electrical power.

The outage, which began around 1700 hours did not however, affect flight operation which are moving as schedule. Immigration procedures as well as baggage collection are however being done manually.

Mr Quaye said efforts are been made to rectify the situation as soon as possible.
