Osei Kwaku Passes Away!
...Another Deadly Accident
Former Minister for Education and Sports in the Kufuor administration, Mr. Edward Osei Kwaku is Dead.
The former Member of Parliament (MP) for Asokwa was knocked down by a vehicle in front of his family house, at the Roman Hill in Kumasi, yesterday evening. He was part of a procession, which was celebrating the installation of a new Adontenhene in Kumasi. He was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, at about 5:25pm, where he was pronounced dead.

Doctors at the Hospital, when contacted, reluctantly stated that he was not dead, but was on ventilator and that the situation was very critical.

Government officials, who included the Ashanti Regional Minister Hon. S. K. Boafo, the MP for Asokwa and the former Major for Kumasi, Hon. Maxwell Kofi Jumah and other political heavyweights, who stormed the Hospital, were not allowed to see Hon. Osei Kwaku by the doctors.

Hon S. K. Boafo came out from the Polyclinic making desperate comments such as "life is short, life is short".

Hon. Osei Kwaku is the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Venues Organizing Committee of the Local Organizing Committee for the CAN 2008.
